An award of £2000 of National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Flood Relief Fund has been made to the Club to help pay for repairs to our Groundsmens Sheds which were badly damaged in the storms over the last few months.
Jennie Price, Chief Executive of Sport England, says: “The storms and floods devastated many sports facilities across England. We want to play our part in helping communities get back to normal, and we are delighted to be able to get this emergency funding to Bush Hill Park Bowls Tennis and Social Club to help it get back up and running as soon as possible.”
Club vice chair Jerry Sanders, Bowls Captain Tony Bracaliello and chair Tony Berry have already arranged for work to be carried out on the smaller shed to make it waterproof after the roof was severely damaged by the storms. The large shed, where all the vital mowers, spikers and rollers, together with the power tools used by the Grounds Staff are kept, is now being assessed to establish whether repair or replacement is the way forwards.
