The Club has reached the Donations target for the building of the new porch and ramp thanks to a most generous legacy from former club member Trevor Chapman.
Trevor’s name completes those which will be added to the honours plaque, known as the ‘Patrons’ Board’, which will be put up in the new building, bearing the names of everyone who has contributed to the project.
Work on the Porch and disabled toilet facility is expected to begin in January 2018. To maximise the potential of the fund, club members with relevant trades and skills will be welcome to assist with the fit out once the foundations and exterior structures have been completed.
More details: Enfield Council has approved the Club’s plans to build a new front porch incorporating a disabled access ramp and toilet facilities. The plans, drawn up by club Secretary Jacquie Quin, were submitted in November. The club has to commence the build within three years of planning approval.
Here’s an extract from Jacquie’s planning application, showing what the new porch might look like.
