We are fast approaching the light at the end of the tunnel! Many of us will have had our first COVID-19 vaccine, and some their second. With the forecast for the UK’s reopening “post-COVID” currently remaining on track, here is Bush Hill Park Clubs’s reopening schedule for a guide to dates (subject to review).
Preparations
The Club is being prepared for your imminent arrival as we speak, with:
- Outside patio heating
- New pergola in the orchard area
- Honesty Bar
- New ventilation in the snooker hall
- Carpet cleaning bar and snooker room
- New shelving and coat hooks in the snooker room
- Two snooker tables being recovered
- New snooker rests
- Tennis floodlights replaced with LEDs
- Tennis hardcourts pressure washed
- Greens looking superb
- New Club website being developed.
Plus, the Wednesday Work Party has been working incredibly hard to make everything perfect for us. A big thanks to the electrical and ground crew for their efforts as well.
Social Evenings
Excitingly, we have booked the start of many social evenings, with Alan Becks’ “A Tribute to the Legends” booked for 11 December 2021. Find out more about this upcoming social event here.

Outside Heating
We will have four infrared heaters for use, and they are all controlled by push-button timers.
Please be responsible when using these to make sure anything combustible is not too close.
Honesty Bar
And now the good bit!
The Honesty Bar we implemented in 2020 will remain in use because it helps with limiting person to person contact. It is for use during the day after 12 noon up until 11pm.
A range of drinks will be stocked with a price list that will be topped and checked regularly. At the end of your time, please put your glasses in the dishwasher and if you are last, turn it on, please!
You will need to have a bar card in credit to make a purchase. All you do is write down what you are taking and your name. We will then adjust your card. You can top your card up online.
Although this is for the duration of the lockdown release, if it works, then there is no reason why it can’t stay. This will enable you to have a drink at any time the bar is closed. It is up to you, the member! If it works it stays.
Remaining Vigilant
Whilst we all may be excited to get back to some sense of normality, the most important thing for the reopening to go to plan is that all members adhere to social distancing and rules, use hand sanitiser frequently, and follow government guidelines.
If you feel unwell, please stay away – see the NHS’s guide to COVID-19 symptoms.
